Ariane Konstantinovskaia

Budour%20Portrait_edited.jpg

Bringing back a modern and transcendent vision of her Slavic origins, Ariane Konstantinovskaia borrows from her travels: different cultures, languages, images, colors and transcribes through her brushes an acidulous, nomadic and ancestral vision of the world around her. Like a tense arch between East and West, Ariane is moved by the laconic destiny of the last Emperor Pu Yi and his wife Wang Rong, fragile victims of ideological and political upheavals. The art of portraiture then becomes a catalyst: "If it were I who was to be always young, and the picture that was to grow old!"
