As an Australian living in the United Arab Emirates who has spent my childhood in both countries, I am strongly influenced by the vastness, light, and magnificence of the landscapes of these two places. I often blend locations together, along with dream imagery, to create an imaginary place. A pull towards open spaces and an early love of maths, mean that the geometry of horizon lines feature in much of my work. I adopt environmentally-friendly painting practices where possible, without solvents or turpentine, reusing, repurposing and recycling where I can. I minimise the use of more toxic materials to use just enough to create a desired effect. Overall, my objective is to create uplifting and thought-provoking work, highlighting the beauty of the world around us, and how vital plants and other animals are to us and to the planet.
